Introduction

Robert Myers Associates is an international landscape architecture and garden design practice working in urban and rural environments. We undertake commissions from private individuals, rural estates, developers, and institutions such as cathedrals, universities, and schools. Our award-winning practice is based in Stoke Bliss, Worcestershire and has completed significant works across London, Cambridge, Birmingham and the Welsh Marches. We’re listed in Country Life’s Top 100 experts on exteriors and interiors and have won many awards, including the Society of Garden Designers’ Grand Award 2017 for the Magic Garden at Hampton Court Palace and six gold medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Working collaboratively with space and light, our design and environmental principles create places that bring joy and meaning to every project on every scale.

Robert Myers

Robert is an award-winning landscape architect who leads the practice both creatively and practically. His design style has been described as simple, elegant, flowing and intelligent, and he has a keen eye for detail which can make a space coherent and balanced. He particularly enjoys the challenges of working in complex historic landscapes and significant public spaces and is as passionate about designing urban areas as he is about creating landscapes for country estates or stylish city gardens. A Cambridge graduate, Robert has long-established connections with both the city and University and has drawn up plans for many of the Colleges, including a 50-year landscape strategy for the iconic landscape of The Backs in the centre of the city. His work in London ranges from roof gardens and urban squares to the award-winning Magic Garden at Hampton Court Palace. Robert is a member of the Society of Garden Designers and a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute.

The Studio

We are a small team of dedicated, hardworking, skilled professionals who are friendly, approachable and super-flexible. We pride ourselves on our responsiveness to our clients and the changes that may occur as a project evolves. We are all committed to using our design vision to support the planet’s climate and ecological crisis.

Our modern studio in Stoke Bliss, Worcestershire, is a great space to work and meet our clients. Set on the Netherwood Estate in beautiful rolling countryside, the studio is one of several handsome converted farm buildings set around a courtyard which we share with Pensons, a Michelin-starred restaurant. RMA was commissioned to design the courtyard alongside the kitchen garden which provides year-round organic fruit, veg and flowers for the restaurant, as well as a peaceful spot to take breaks away from the busy studio.

Biodiversity

There has never been such an important time to be a landscape architect. We have a critical role to play in the climate and ecological crises which the planet is facing, by bringing our particular skills and experience to projects alongside our design vision. Water management, green roofs, biodiversity net gain, climate resilience, and creating wildlife habitat are integral to our design thinking, while creating places which also bring joy to the human beings who use them.
