Robert Myers
Director
RMA is led creatively and practically by Robert Myers, who has won six gold medals and the People’s Choice Award at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Robert particularly enjoys the challenges of working in complex historic landscapes and significant public spaces; he also likes working with clients over the long term – both with organisations such as the Wellcome Trust at the Genome Campus at Hinxton, and with private clients such as the Earl of Boscawen at Tregothnan and James and Elizabeth Saunders Watson at Rockingham Castle. He is as happy designing urban spaces as he is designing landscapes for country estates; his work in London ranges from roof gardens and urban squares, to the award-winning Magic Garden at Hampton Court Palace. A graduate of Girton College in Cambridge, Robert has long-established connections with both the university and the city. He has drawn up landscape plans for several Cambridge colleges including King’s, Clare and Girton itself, as well as the 50-year management strategy for the iconic landscape of The Backs, in the centre of the city. Robert is a Member of the Society of Garden Designers and a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute, and sits on the Cambridge City Council Design and Conservation Panel.
